(Wheatfield, June 18, 2003) An awards reception was held on June 5th at Harry's Harbour Place Grille in Buffalo to honor and highlight the top 50 fastest growing companies in Western New York. Calamar, Niagara County's largest real estate organization was ranked as fourth. The selection was based on Calamars' sales and employee growth over the last three years, creating a growth rate of 425.5%. This notable achievement is a culmination of hard work and fortitude by the entire Calamar staff. "I think our long term commitment and dedication to the Western New York area is evident in every facet of our organization", said Calamar President Kenneth M. Franasiak. "I believe we have the very best people working for us from office staff to our field crew who have made this tremendous growth possible through their hard work, dedication and attention to detail. It's a direct result of maintaining a strict strategic focus to deliver the very best in service and products", Franasiak said.

Calamar is a full service real estate company headquartered in The Woodlands Corporate Center in Wheatfield and is comprised of Development, Asset Management and Construction divisions for commercial, industrial and large-scale residential projects. "Our strong growth rate will be the driving force behind our strategic expansion to The Woodlands Corporate Center. While our long-term focus is on a national basis, we will continue to invest in our local community", said Calamar President Kenneth Franasiak. Calamar is active throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario and over the last decade, has developed and invested over $150 million dollars in the Western New York region. "Our continued commitment to Western New York is clearly obvious with the recent announcement to invest over $100,000,000.00 into the expansion of The Woodlands Corporate Center, along with investing over $16,000,000.00 in the Town of Wheatfield alone in 2003." said Franasiak. Calamar offers in-house services ranging from site selection, financing, construction and property management for its own porfolio as well as third part clients. The construction division offers building systems in pre-engineered metal, conventional masonry and is an exclusive alliance member of the CON/STEEL concrete tilt-up system and the only contractor in W.N.Y. licensed to utilize this state-of-the-art system.

The Fast Track 50 event was sponsored by Business First of Buffalo, along with Gaines Metzler Kriner & Company, LLP, Charter One Bank, and Phillips, Lytle, Hitchcok Blaine & Huber, LLP. The selection process included an on-site internal audit from a private CPA firm to verify the sales figures and full-time employee status over the last three years.
