The Niagara USA Chamber recognized Kenneth M. Franasiak, President and C.E.O. of Calamar, as "Business Person of the Year". Franasiak was presented with this award of excellence at the Chamber’s annual dinner held at the Seneca Niagara Casino on Wednesday, February 28th.

Franasiak was selected for his outstanding achievements in bringing development and construction projects to Niagara County, in particular, the creation and development of The Woodlands Corporate Center West and The Woodlands Corporate Center East which is notably one of the largest industrial developments in the last five decades for Niagara County. Comprised of office, flex, industrial, senior housing and patio homes, The Woodlands Corporate Center is home to many global organizations and when completed, will result in a capital investment of $160M and the creation of approximately 2500 jobs.

Franasiak was also selected for his commitment to the community through his various roles in numerous civic and social organizations including serving on the board for the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara and the Niagara Area Foundation, among many others.

"I am very honored and humbled to have been chosen for such a prestigious honor" Franasiak said. "While this award was given to me as an individual, I would like to recognize and share this award with all our employees. It is with their hard work and dedication that has helped Calamar grow to where it is today. I am blessed that every day I get to work with some of the most talented people in the industry".
