Calamar is looking for an experienced Director of Construction to join our team in Buffalo, NY area.

Director of Construction Candidates will possess 10+ years of experience in the project management construction or related field demonstrating leadership, project management and the employment of resources appropriately and efficiently.

This position will oversee and manage construction projects, project managers, project superintendents and project administrator from design to closeout under the financial, qualitative and time sensitive objectives and the satisfaction of the client. The successful candidate will develop estimates, schedules, processing of submittals, and request for information, change orders, progress reports, closeout documents; ensuring compliance with plans and specifications, and other contract documents.

This position direct reports to the Executive Vice President of Construction.


  • 4-year degree in management, business, or related field
  • A minimum of five years experience in related field
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving along with exceptional interpersonal communication, presentation and written skills
  • Comprehension of budgets and financial statements
  • Familiarity with Timberline, 3D Architect, AutoCAD, LT 2000 and Computer Ease or similar software is desired.
